Triage, psychoeducation, and full diagnostic evaluations of patients with special attention to Major Depression. Determined eligibility of patients for the research protocol. Recruited appropriate study patients and developed effective procedures for minority participation through community outreach. Developed procedures manual and a data management manual for the implementation of the research protocol. Supervised and trained staff as part of the research protocol. Participated in preparing grants, research presentations, and publications.

Duties: Trained in crisis intervention and counseling for survivors of sexual assault. Serve as a medical advocate for survivors of sexual assault in the hospital emergency rooms. Evaluated the shelter’s ability to meet the needs of Latina clients and provided staff support.
RESEARCH
1998-1999 Doctoral dissertation: This study assessed the prevalence and outcomes of sexual harassment at the University of Puerto Rico (n = 602).
The design combines qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the cultural context of sexual harassment
and its manifestations in Puerto Rico.
Fall 1995 Research assistant at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to under the supervision of Louise Fitzgerald, Ph.D.
The focus of the present research experience was sexual harassment and Latina women.
1996-1997 Master’s thesis research: Examined the relationship between acculturation and work satisfaction, work attitudes, life satisfaction,
and psychological well being among Latino/a immigrants.
Spring 1997 Conducted a study that examined the appropriateness of computerized MMPI II interpretations for the purposes of sexual harassment litigation.
The study included comparisons between results of a clinical evaluation vs. computerized evaluations of sexual harassment litigants.
Fall 1997 Conducted an analogue study (N= 350) on university women as to the effects of childhood sexual abuse on perceptions of sexual harassment.
My involvement in the project included: developing the video stimulus materials, survey development, data collection, and data analysis, and
manuscript preparation.
Fall and spring 1996 Conducted two studies on the outcomes and coping mechanisms of immigrant Latina victims of sexual harassment.
Spring 1996 Interviewer for the Follow-up Campus Climate Survey at the University of Illinois on work experiences, job stress, and sexual harassment.
Summer 1993 Research assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the supervision of Dr. Charles Kalish (CIC Summer Research Program). Involved

1996 to 1997 Medical advocate at Rape Crisis Services and " A Woman's
Place" a domestic violence shelter in Champaign - Urbana, Illinois.
Duties: Trained in crisis intervention and counseling for survivors of sexual assault. Serve as a medical advocate for survivors of sexual assault in the hospital emergency rooms. Evaluated the shelter’s ability to meet the needs of Latina clients and provided staff support.
RESEARCH
1998-1999 Doctoral dissertation: This study assessed the prevalence and outcomes of sexual harassment at the University of Puerto Rico (n = 602).
The design combines qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the cultural context of sexual harassment
and its manifestations in Puerto Rico.
Fall 1995 Research assistant at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to under the supervision of Louise Fitzgerald, Ph.D.
The focus of the present research experience was sexual harassment and Latina women.
1996-1997 Master’s thesis research: Examined the relationship between acculturation and work satisfaction, work attitudes, life satisfaction,
and psychological well being among Latino/a immigrants.
Spring 1997 Conducted a study that examined the appropriateness of computerized MMPI II interpretations for the purposes of sexual harassment litigation.
The study included comparisons between results of a clinical evaluation vs. computerized evaluations of sexual harassment litigants.
Fall 1997 Conducted an analogue study (N= 350) on university women as to the effects of childhood sexual abuse on perceptions of sexual harassment.
My involvement in the project included: developing the video stimulus materials, survey development, data collection, and data analysis, and
manuscript preparation.
Fall and spring 1996 Conducted two studies on the outcomes and coping mechanisms of immigrant Latina victims of sexual harassment.
Spring 1996 Interviewer for the Follow-up Campus Climate Survey at the University of Illinois on work experiences, job stress, and sexual harassment.
Summer 1993 Research assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the supervision of Dr. Charles Kalish (CIC Summer Research Program). Involved
in a study on children’s conceptualization of illness. I was responsible for data collection at local day care centers, instrument development, data
entry, analyses, and presentation.
